It’s like when I turned 30 everything started fast forwarding. People older than me keep saying, “Oh, you’re still young! You’ll figure things out!” I know I’m still young. But I’m not as young as I was and that’s kind of freaking me out.
While I wait for the crossroads to sort themselves out, I have tried to give myself more structure in other areas to compensate.
Grant and I have been working out at our local YMCA, and been loving it. My knees are finally starting to get stronger and we went on a strenuous hike yesterday and I didn’t collapse from exhaustion. (Yay cardio workouts!) I did struggle to stay awake after 6:30 p.m., though. Lol!
I’ve developed a better home yoga practice in the last few weeks and have been enjoying my free trial of YogaGlo. I’m entirely capable of coming up with a yoga flow that’s great for me and does what I need. But I know myself and I don’t quite give myself the challenge I need. Plus, at 5:15 a.m., I’m not in the mindset to come up with something new. Just tell me what to do, dammit!
I was thinking a few days ago about my name of my blog and Instagram handle and how I feel like it’s holding me back. I love planning and yoga, but those aren’t the only things I’m interested in.
I knew this going in and didn’t listen to my intuition. I decided that I will change my Instagram handle back to @allisonleora. That’s my name, I love it, it’s never gotten boring for me and it hasn’t held me back! So, apologies for the flip-flopping, but that’s where I am.
I’ve gotten back in the habit of reading a lot and have always thought it would be fun to do some book reviews. So those will be peppered here and there throughout my blog posts (assuming I keep up with this, I mean let’s be real, I haven’t been the best at this stuff!).
You may notice it will take time to have a review completed because I like to give it time to marinate in my brain after I’m finished with a book. Perhaps I’ll do an initial reaction and then revisit it in a few weeks. I like that idea. 🙂
I would also like to do some favorites posts. I really enjoy watching those on Instagram and YouTube, so I thought it’d be fun to create my own.
I’ll post about other adventures, too. I have fallen in love with hiking, hope to start camping here soon and, of course, the always entertaining Baillie, who now has her own Instagram because what else am I going to do with all of those photos?
Any-hoo, that’s where I am in my life at the moment. Hope you enjoy this new endeavor of mine–if I keep up with it!
Thanks for reading! ❤
